Micromax Mobiles today launched the Canvas LapTab device that can be used like a tablet and can be converted into a laptop. This LapTab is running Windows 8.1 out of the box over a 10.1 inch screen. This device will be available on Amazon.in from 6th May 2015.

LapTab was announced a long time back and was supported to come with dual boot option; however because of some issues Micromax has now launched it only with the Windows 8.1 OS. This tablet sports a 10.1 inch screen with WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution, supports 10 point multi-touch. It is powered by Intel ATOM processor (Z3735F) clocked at 1.3GHz ~ 1.8GHz.

There is 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can use 3G (no voice calling) via the existing SIM slot. Weight is about 1.1 Kg. A 2MP camera is packed on the rear as well as on the front. Key features are Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. There is USB slot to connect external devices / pen drive.

It is a full fledged laptop running Windows 8.1 OS  that also includes a detachable keyboard. The LapTab gets power from a 7700 mAh battery.

Micromax Canvas LapTab launched

This is similar to the Swipe Ultimate 3G tablet / laptop. I had already done the review of the Swipe Ultimate tablet you can check that out, it is exactly the same. The only difference is the keyboard attachment (better on Micromax), camera (they are better on Swipe), battery and the price. In fact the detachable keyboard dock looks much better on the Micromax Canvas LapTab and so is the price of Rs. 14,999.
