The net is buzzing around with rumors about the upcoming Micromax A85 handset, another low cost android phone with powerful features. Leaking an upcoming handset model, it seems is a new way of advertisement. Just leak the model and the rumors take over from there. The news spreads like wildfire with everyone is excited about it even before the officially announcement. This keeps the excitement going and virtually at no cost.
Now let’s talk about the leaked Micromax A85 handset. Until there is no official word from Micromax mobile company we assume that the A85 will be what the rumors are saying.
To start with the A85 comes with a powerful 1 GHz processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core) with 512 MB RAM. One can assume that the phone will be somewhat similar to the predecessors namely the Micromax A60 and the Micromax A70.
The capacitive touch screen is 3.8 inches supporting resolution of 480 by 800 pixels with 246 ppi pixel density. The Micromax A85 will feature a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus. There will be a VGA secondary camera for making video calls and video chats.
The A85 will come loaded with Android 2.2 which is not the latest but the Gingerbread would have been a better choice. Other features like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 8GB internal storage memory and USB connectivity will be present. Not to mention that the Micromax A85 will be able to play various video and music formats.
If you compare the specifications with the Micromax A70 handset you will find there are a few improvements like the processor speed from 600 MHz to 1 GHz, WVGA screen quality improved etc. Even the handset looks a bit different and more professional.
Considering the price tag of Micromax A70 with nearly similar features, the Micromax A85 may be price around Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 18,000 i.e. if the specifications are found to be true.
