Micromax has launched the A50 (also called Ninja) a dual SIM smartphone that runs on the android 2.3 OS for a price of just under Rs. 5,000. This handset comes with Micromax’s own voice assistant feature called the ‘Aisha’.

With the Aisha feature you can talk with your Micromax A50 handset, get the phone status, get latest news of a particular location, get movie reviews and even make a call without having to type anything. Not only that you can also inquire about the current weather, missed calls or get current date/time.

This Micromax handset is powered by a 650 MHz processor running android 2.3 OS (gingerbread). The A50 supports microSD card (32 GB), comes with a 2 MP camera (1600 by 1200 pixels resolution / without flash) which is placed at the rear  – can record videos, has got built in gravity sensors and supports 3G/2G networks.

The capacitive touchscreen display is 3.1 inches with multi-touch supported. The handset is 13 mm thin. Other features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, built in FM, GPS and Multi format media player. You can also download many apps from Google play (Android market).

The 1200 mAh battery on the A50 gives a decent standby time of around 10 days and talktime of about 4 hours.
