At an event in China, MediaTek announced the Helio X25 and Helio X20 Deca core processors. What’s more the Helio X25 chipset will be exclusively used on the Meizu Pro 6 premium flagship smartphone that will be launched soon.

MediaTek has giving exclusive rights to Meizu to use the chipset for few months and then it will be open for other players. Meizu has not yet confirmed the official launch date for Meizu Pro 6, but it is expected to happen soon.

Helio X20 houses 4x cortex A53 cores clocked at 2GHz + 4x cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz + 2x cortex A72  cores clocked at 2.3GHz. This 10 core (deca core) CPU is coupled with Mali T880 MP4 GPU clocked at 780MHz. This chipset supports 2560 x 1600 screen resolution.

The Helio X25 also comes with 4x cortex A53 cores + 4x cortex A53 cores + 2x cortex A72 cores but this SOC is clocked at 2.5GHz slightly higher than Helio X20. Even the GPU Mali T880 MP4 is clocked slightly higher at 850Mhz.

According to MediaTek even though X25 is over clocked when compared with Helio X20, the power consumption is the same on both SOC’s.
