The Flyme OS 5.0 has been rolled out in India on Meizu MX5 handset. This is not an over the air (OTA) update, if you wish to update you will need to manually download and install the same, I am not sure if this update will be made available using OTA. Download size is around 800 MB.
Key highlight about the Flyme OS 5.0 is that it comes loaded with 300+ features and over 1000+ enhancements. Once upgraded to 5.0 the default boot animation and the ringtones got a complete makeover, they are India centric example boot animation – Taj Mahal.
The battery has been optimized – with this new upgrade you can expect 11% more battery juice. Other features are floating notifications, card style multi task list, multi screen mode wherein users can use two apps on the same screen, shake to sort icons on home screen, new design, better battery management, app detecting (will detect and prevent fake apps to prevent risk) and enhanced permission management.
