MediaTek the makers of popular SOC used in many low cost mobile devices has unveiled the MediaTek MT6795 chipset (ARM Cortex A53) . It is a true 64 bit octa core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 4G LTE support. This chipset the first of its kind with 64 bit processor will be targeting the premium segments.

Here are some of the features of MT6795 chipset
It is 64 bit and can be clocked up to 2.2GHz. It makes use of all the 8 cores for optimal performance. Supports LPDDR3 dual channel memory @ 933MHz. Makes use of MediaTek ClearMotion and RTE (Response Time Enhancement) technology for display.

This chipset not only supports 4 FDD, TDD LTE, 3G and 2G but also supports 2K display i.e. 2560 x 1600 pixels. The hardware is powerful capable of shooting Super Slow motion videos in full HD resolution at an amazing 480fps.

The hardware supports H.264, VP9 and H.265 Ultra HD 4K2K playback and recording . The MT6795 chipset also supports wireless charging (multi mode), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS, ANT+, Beidou and FM.

True 64-bit Octa core MediaTek MT6795

This MediaTek MT6795 64 bit octa core chipset will be commercially available by end of 2014, we could see handsets using this chipset in early 2015. This will fall in the premium category, the handsets using MT6795 will not be that cheap.
