Xiaomi today officially launched the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime smartphone in India. This handset is manufactured at a facility in Vishakhapatnam (Xiaomi + Foxconn partnership). So the Redmi 2 Prime is truly a made in India product available for ₹6,999.
Redmi 2 Prime name is nothing new, we have hearing about it, seen it and then saw it vanish on Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. Now the price is also confirmed. This handset houses the qualcomm snapdragon 410 quad core processor and sports a 4.7 inch screen with HD resolution.
MIUI 6 runs out of the box with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and external micro SD card support. MIUI 6 is based on Android 4.4.4. Also included is an 8MP AF camera on the rear with flash and a 2MP fixed focus camera on the front.
Key features – 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. Prime houses the 2200 mAh battery that should easily last for over 24 hours of mixed usage.
