There are many LYF handsets available in the markets, and all of these handsets support 4G LTE with VoLTE. Here is the review of LYF Flame 8 that is available for Rs. 4,199. This is Snapdragon 210 powered, is it worth the price, let’s find out.

The box pack looks attractive and inside you will find the handset, 2000 mAh (removable) battery, user guide, warranty card, standard quality earphone, data cable and travel charger 5V/1A. SAR Value : 0.365W/kg head and 0.462W/kg body.

Design, display and OS

The LYF Flame F8 is using a plastic body, back panel is with a matte finishing. Build quality and finishing is good. Handset weight is 138 grams and dimensions are 132.6 x 66.2 x 9.3 (mm). Because of the size / weight most users will find it easy to hold and operate with single hand.

This LYF Flame 8 is running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

Memory and Storage

This handset is loaded with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. 128GB micro SD card can also be used. OTG is supported, you can connect external pen drives.

Hardware and Performance

The F8 houses qualcomm snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) chipset clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with Adreno 304 GPU. This is a 32 bit processor that is really not that fast, decent for normal basic operations but not meant for heavy usage and gaming. Heat built-up is under control – max battery temperature I encountered was 36 degrees.

Gaming

The Asphalt 8 in very low visual quality mode failed to impress. This hardware is not for gaming users.

Camera

There is an 8MP AF camera on the rear with flash and front camera can shoot in 5MP resolution. Camera quality is okay not really that great. Rear camera can also shoot (ok) 720p videos.

The removable 2000 mAh battery does a decent job. You can expect 5 to 7 hours of non-stop moderate to heavy usage on a single charge.

Verdict

The Reliance LYF Flame F8 also called Flame 8 or F8, though available for an attractive price tag, the handset is not at all powerful. If you are looking for handset to play games and for better camera then stay away from this handset. The battery life on this phone however is pretty good.
