Denmark-based mobile company Lumigon is looking to grab a share of the Indian mobile market. It is fast gaining in popularity especially in Europe especially after its T2 smartphone was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) early this year. The handset has received some very good reviews from tech-magazines like Stuff, Verge, Engadget, etc.

Riding on this positive feedback the company is now planning to launch it in India and a few European countries before summer-end. The features and specs of this mobile are definitely comparable with some top high-end phones so I thought readers might wish to know what they are. This is especially so because Lumigon have added a couple of new features since the MWC event.

It’s no less compact and stylish in looks compared to the best smartphones but it’s the main features of this Android phone that will make it stand out:

The S2 Snapdragon processor by Qualcomm. Users who care about speed should look no further. Expect network connections at split-second speed and as quick response for actions like web-browsing, file-sharing, etc. Normally such high-speed processors tend to put heavy strain on the battery, draining it, but the S2 Snapdragon can take all that and more.

The camera on the T2 is another feature that users might like.  This 8-megapixel camera with a short-cut button to the right side of the phone will keep you always ready for photo-opps. Especially for great pictures,auto-focus and shutter-click can be done just by tapping it.

The Vault – this is a new addition since the product was first unveiled. Vault is like a storage box, a very secure one (encrypted) in which you can safely deposit confidential stuff like emails, text messages, notes, apps, passwords, images, and contacts. The Vault is password-protected. In the event of a loss or theft, all the data stored on the T2 including in the Vault can be later retrieved as it would all be backed up in a cloud storage service.

Expandable memory – there may be very few phones out there in this category. This one has a 2-terrabyte capacity (2000 gigabytes). With storage cap of this kind you’d be able to store 100s of videos and 1000s of songs and other data in this single device. Its internal memory of 8GB can be increased with a microSDXC card inserted in the slot provided behind the back cover.

The Sunlight mode is another recently added attractive feature. Even in bright sunlight you’ll be able to see contents on the 3.8″ screen (480×800 pixels) of the T2 clearly. For this you have only to long press the Lumigon logo on the screen.

Wi-Fi Hotspot – Users can turn this device into a WiFi hotspot allowing friends and other users to share the connection through their PCs/tablets at the same time.

NFC – this feature is very popular among the latest smartphones and allows you to make payments, share contacts, photos, etc with other NFC devices in proximity.

The Gyroscope of the T2 gives you better gaming control and also used by certain apps.

The gadget runs on Android 4.0 ICS which allows access to over 500,000 apps from Google Play. Among other features – there are 1 GB RAM, the Snapdragon S2 1.4GHz processor, and for network it offers GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz, 3G/UMTS 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 MHz & AWS, and Data 3G/HSDPA+ 14.4 Mbit/HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/GPRS/EDGE.

For connectivity, the T2 has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Infrared receiver and transmitter, FM receiver and 3.5 mm jack.

The T2’s battery life may impress you. This replaceable lithium-ion battery can give you non-stop video playback for up to 6 hours or music playback up to 21 hours, or 8 hours of talktime and standby of up to 310 hours.

It  also has a proximity sensor, an A-GPS and compass. With a price tag of around 500 to 600 euro (ex-vat), it is clearly targeted at buyers who seek a high-end phone with a bundle of new features like the T2.
