Finally good news for Android One users, your handset will get the most awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade within few weeks. Google India has confirmed the same. It will be an over the air update so watch out.
The Android One’s were supposed to be the first one to get the Lollipop, unfortunately XOLO rolled out lollipop update on their XOLO One handset, pretty much disappointing Android one users. Moreover there was no word about the Android 5.0 for Android one hardware. Finally it’s official now.
Do note that the updates are rolled out gradually; some of you might get the update before others do and for some it might take few more days / weeks. You will get a notification once the update is available. Most likely your data will be intact but would be better if you take a backup.
Android Lollipop will completely change the look and feel, it is just like buying a new handset. The new OS should also somewhat improve the performance. Android 5 will be rolled out on Micromax Canvas A1, Spice dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V.
