When you hear the name Lenovo you immediately associate it with laptops and Netbooks, well now the company has joined the android smartphone bandwagon by showcasing their fist smartphone model called the Lenovo S2 at Consumer Electronics Trade Show 2012.

The Lenovo S2 comes with a 3.8 inch touchscreen with all black look and with a curved body. This is a single SIM phone with supported resolution of 480 by 800 pixels with amazing clarity and brightness.

The S2 houses a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Processor with Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS. Once the OS is loaded the custom made Lenovo Magic 3.0 user interface takes over. The screen resolution is impressive and so is the 8 megapixel camera plus a VGA front facing camera.

This handset comes with 1 GB internal memory, 512 MB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. Additional storage space can be increased by using micoSD card up to 16 GB.  Other features are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, Mini HDMI and USB 2.0. The Lenovo S2 comes with 1500 mAh battery. I am sure most of you will agree that this handset more or less resembles the Apple iPhone.

Lenovo has not formally disclosed the release date or the price tag, but this handset will first hit the Chinese market and then, the rest of the world. For now stay tuned, for more updates.
