The Iris X5 that was in the news a few days back has been officially launched. It is a handset made for selfies powered by quad core processor and comes with a wide angle front camera with LED flash. Lava Iris X5 is priced at Rs. 8,649.

This dual SIM handset houses a 1.2GHz quad core processor. There is 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. 32GB external micro SD card is supported. Android KitKat 4.4.2 runs the show. The X5 sports a 5 inch IPS screen with full lamination and supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

The Iris X5 also includes an 8MP auto focus camera with BSI 2 sensor and a flash placed on the rear and another wide angle camera of 5MP resolution on the front. The front camera also supports auto focus and comes with LED flash for better selfies in low light conditions.

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The X5 gets power from a 2100 mAh Li-po battery that should be sufficient for this hardware. A free flip cover is also included in the box pack. It is intelligent flip cover that also helps improve battery performance.
