Lava Mobiles today launched another handset in the Iris X1 series, its called the Lava Iris X1 Atom priced at Rs. 4,444. This handset is powered by quad core processor and comes with a 5MP primary camera (PureCel) packed on the rear.
The dual SIM Lava Iris X1 Atom is running Android KitKat 4.4.x out of the box and the company has promised Android 5.0 lollipop update pretty soon. As mentioned the Atom is powered by quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz (chipset unknown), probably using the Broadcom or Spreadtrum chipset.
Touch screen is 4 inches supporting 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolution. There is 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM and micro SD card slot to add additional external storage of up to 32GB. The handset also packs a 5 megapixel PureCel camera on the rear with LED flash and a front camera of VGA resolution. Primary camera can record videos in 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The handset however can play full HD videos with ease.
Additional features are 3G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS. The Lava Iris X1 Atom with a 1750 mAh removable battery will be available from next week onwards in Black Silver, White Silver and Black Gold colour options for Rs. 4,444.
