Lava Mobiles has launched the lava Iris 503e a trimmed down version of Lava Iris 503. This handset is available for a price tag of Rs. 6,749 – it sports a 5 inch screen and comes powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor.

The Lava Iris 503 houses the same hardware but comes with a qHD screen resolution. The Iris 503e in fact supports 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) over a 5 inch screen. This dual SIM handset runs on Android 4.2 and is powered by a dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

The camera on the 503e is a 3MP fixed focus rear facing and 1.3MP front facing as compared to the 5MP AF and 1.2MP FF on the Iris 503. The handset design is the same, you cannot really make any difference between the two (look wise).

503e is 10.45mm thick and weighs about 173 grams. There is 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM (2GB phone storage) and 32GB micro SD card slot. Another disappointing thing about the 503e is that it does not support 3G – the 503 did!.

Key features are 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth with A2DP. Battery is 2000 mAh with up to 7 hours talk time over the 2G networks.
