Lava will soon roll out the Lava Iris 356 and the Lava Iris 402 budget smartphones running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS for an attractive price of Rs. 4,499 and Rs. 5,499 respectively. Both these handsets will be powered by dual core processor and will support 3G.
Recently Intex had announced the Intex Cloud X3 that runs on the Android 4.2 OS with 256MB RAM. We had a doubt if it could run 4.2 on 256MB RAM, but now the Iris 356 and the 402 both powered by same hardware and 256MB RAM also claim the same.
Lava Iris 356
This handset is powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor (MT6572) running Android 4.2 with 256MB RAM and 512MB internal storage. Of the 512MB storage, users get about 100 MB free and of course there is the micro SD support of up to 32GB.
Iris 356 is a dual SIM handset with a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen sporting a resolution of 480×320 pixels. The 356 handset is 12.6mm thick. There is 1.3Mp rear fixed focus camera and a front VGA camera. Other features are 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The battery is of 1500 mAh capacity with a talk-time of up to 5 hours.
Lava Iris 402
This handset too comes powered by dual core (MT6572) with 256MB RAM, 100 MB user space of 512MB and external storage support (32GB). The screen here is 4 inches with 800×480 pixel resolution. It’s a dual SIM handset with 3MP rear FF camera and front VGA camera.
The handset is 11.4mm thick. Other features are 3G, GPS, FM radio with recording, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Battery is 1500 mAh that gives up to 4 hours of talk-time.
