A new low budget smartphone got listed on the Lava Mobiles official website. It is the Iris 401 with a dual core processor. The price is not known but looking at the specifications it should be under Rs. 4K.
The Lava Iris 401 sports a 4 inch screen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. It houses a 1.3Ghz dual core processor and runs outdated Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. The 401 is 10.3mm thick and comes packed with 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. Users will get less than 200 MB space for apps, they can however use the micro SD card slot to add more space of up to 32GB.
This is dual SIM, dual core smartphone that does not support 3G and GPS. There is 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (3.0). There are dual cameras – a VGA front facing camera and a 3MP fixed focus rear camera with LED flash.
The Lava Iris 401 gets power from a 1450 mAh battery that on a full charge will give about 9 hours of talk time. This handset is expected to be available soon for under Rs. 4,000.
