After the success of Lava Xtron, Lava mobiles have now launched Lava Etab Connect, a 7 inch tablet with built in 3G and voice call support. This tablet is priced at Rs. 8,499.

The ETab Connect is 10mm thick and weighs around 350 grams. The 7 inch screen supports 800×480 pixels resolution; this is much lower than what the Lava Xtron supports. Add to it the Connect comes with a single core processor (Qualcomm MSM7227A clocked at 1.2GHz). The RAM is 512MB and internal storage is around 4GB.

There are two cameras a front VGA that can be used for video chat using Skype and a rear 2MP fixed focus camera. There is built in SIM slot with 3G and voice call support. In addition there is Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, USB port and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Lava Etab Z7C Connect can easily play full HD videos and should also be able to play many games. This tab runs on the Android ICS OS (Ver. 4.0) and comes with 3000mAh battery with usage time of about 3 to 3.5 hours.

There are very few takers for Tablets with build in 3G. The primary reason is the size. It does look good for few days but as you start using it you realize how difficult it is to manage voice calls, especially when you are on the move.
