Kodak a well known brand when it comes to camera has announced their first android smartphone at CES 2015, its called the Kodak IM5. It will be made available before the beginning of Q2 2015 for approx $250.
This would be their first android powered smartphone and it looks pretty good. Most of the components on the smartphone are made by Kodak themselves (in collaboration with a British firm). On the hardware front the Kodak IM5 is using the MediaTek 1.7GHz Octa Core processor.
IM5 is running Android 4.4.x on a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The company will be providing the next update i.e. Android 5.0. There is 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a micro SD card slot (32GB max). The OS will be customized and Kodak will be adding their own store along with full access to Google Play store.
Like all other Octa Core powered handsets the IM5 also comes with a 13MP camera tucked on the back and a standard 5MP camera on the front. Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4 and GPS. The battery capacity has not yet been disclosed.
Kodak IM5 will be available soon this year for approx $250.
