Unboxing Kodak 50 inch TV
Inside the box you will find the TV, user manual, warranty card, remote with batteries, stand and wall mount accessories.
Design and Specifications
If you compare the build quality and finishing of other smart TVs available in the market, the quality of Kodak TVs is much better. This one that I used for the review sports a 50 inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full HD) resolution.
This Kodak TV is using A+ grade Samsung display panel (48 backlight panel best in India). Colour reproduction and viewing angles (178 degrees) are quite good. This is a smart TV powered by 1GHz quad core processor running Android Kitkat 4.4.2 with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

Performance
Most of these smart TVs available in the market are using the same software, if you check the interface they are almost the same. This Kodak 50 inch FHD smart TV is also running Android 4.4.2 that is pretty much outdated and I am not sure if the company will provide updates.
The other smart TV that I reviewed was also using the same OS. The OS performance on this Kodak TV was a little better, faster, though occasionally it takes 3 to 4 seconds for the menu option / next page to show up.
Another problem with the OS (Android 4.4.2) is that some apps will not update, for example YouTube – though default YouTube app still works – not sure for how long.
This TV supports Miracast, you can easily share / stream content from your tablet / mobiles on to the big screen. Moreover you can load movies / photos on the pendrive, simply connect the USB pendrive on the TV and watch the content on the big screen. Sound output (built in speaker) is quite loud and clear (20W output).
Verdict
Most of these Smart TV’s are using the same outdated software, don’t expect too much out of it. These TV’s still are a very good buy considering the price tag. As far as the smartness is concerned you can always connect a HDMI dongle (Chrome dongle) and make the TV even smarter.
Rating 3.8 out of 5
Kodak 50 inch FHD smart TV is a very good buy available for Rs. 33,999 (you might get it for lower cost).
