After Micromax announced the Micromax Canvas 4, Karbonn Mobiles have reacted quickly and have unveiled the Karbonn S6 or Karbonn Titanium S6 – a competitor to the Canvas 4. It seems both Micromax and Karbonn Mobiles are now targeting the Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 20,000 segment.
Micromax has not yet unveiled any info about the Canvas 4. Karbonn however has revealed some info about the Titanium S6. It will be with Full HD screen resolution and powered by snapdragon processor (Qualcomm), probably quad core (though they have not specifically mentioned ‘quad core’).
The handset will run on the Jelly Bean 4.2 OS and will come with Stylus just like the one that you get with the Galaxy Note handsets. We are not yet sure if it will be exactly the same (pen type tip) or capacitive pen. But it will be interesting if they can come up with something similar to the S-Pen.
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Karbonn Mobiles have indicated that the Karbonn S6 will be priced under Rs. 20,000. It is just a matter of few days and we will get a better picture. As for now MediaTek quad core chipsets are better as compared with Qualcomm quad cores (low cost – eg, Karbonn S1 v/s MT6589 Mediatek). But let’s see what the Canvas 4 comes up with. The stylus on the Karbonn S6 is definitely a plus point if it indeed is like as found on the Galaxy Note.
