Karbonn mobiles well known for its low cost mobile handsets are now getting ready to enter the low cost tablet segment. They will soon launch what they call the K-Pad Tablet in the Indian market probably within the next few months.
The Karbonn K-Pad is not here to challenge Aakash, Xtab A10 or the BSNL-Penta tablets but in fact will compete with Reliance CDMA tab, Reliance 3G tab, iBall and the Micromax tablet. We do not know the price but it could be around Rs. 10,000.
This Karbonn Tablet will come with a capacitive touchscreen of size 7 inches with 1 GHz processing power and running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Later on Karbonn will push in more models with better hardware.
The K-Tab will support 3G, however it is not clear if it will come with built in 3G support or external 3G dongle support. Other features that you will find are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port, front and rear facing cameras (resolution unknown), microSD support and HDMI port.
We do not know yet if this Karbonn tablet will come with built in speakers but it does come with a 3.5 mm audio jack. Sources reveal that Karbonn will make an announcement in April or May 2012. We will keep you updated about the latest happenings, released date, more features, reviews and the latest price.
