Along with the Karbonn S9 Lite, Karbonn Mobiles had also launched the Karbonn A99i handset. This dual SIM smartphone is now available online for Rs. 4,880. It is powered by dual core processor and does support the 3G networks.
The Karbonn A99i comes with dual SIM slots with 3G + 2G support. It is using the 1.3GHz dual core processor (Chipset unknown). This smartphones runs on Android 4.2 over a 3.97 inch touch screen with probably 800 x 480 or 480 x 320 pixels resolution.
There is minimal RAM of 512MB and internal storage space of 4GB. The micro SD card slot can in turn house external cards of up to 32GB. The A99i also includes a front facing VGA camera (0.3MP) and 5MP rear facing camera with LED flash. The good part is that the rear camera is auto focus.
Additional features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and Bluetooth. Navigation with Google Maps is supported though it is not clearly mentioned if there is built in GPS. The Karbonn A99i with a 1200 mAh battery is now listed on Flipkart for Rs. 4,880. Definitely not a very good buy and it would be wise to wait for some more low cost handsets that will be launched within few days.
