The Jolla Smartphone is finally here in India. This dual core powered smartphone running the Sailfish OS is priced at Rs. 16,499. This handset is running a completely new (different) OS, but it is capable of running Android based apps.

On the hardware front this Jolla phone is using the qualcomm snapdragon dual core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. Sailfish OS runs the show with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage. External cards are supported.

Handset is 9.9mm thick and sports a 4.5 inch screen with qHD resolution. The touchscreen supports 5 point multi touch and protected with corning gorilla glass. There are dual cameras, rear AF camera of 8MP with LED flash and a front 2MP camera.

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth. Sailfish OS is gesture based UI, you can easily interact using one hand. There are no physical buttons. Live multi tasking is supported – it shows all running apps on a single screen, you don’t need to open / close them.

It is single SIM handset that is loaded with good sensors (accelerometer, Gyro, magnetic, light and proximity) and comes with 2100 mAh battery that gives talk time of up to 9 hours.
