Jolla a new company will set its base in India within few days. They will officially launch their first smartphone in India on 23rd September. Their website is functional and the handset will be available exclusively from Snapdeal.

Snapdeal had been teasing about the Jolla launch for quite some time. The Jolla smartphone comes loaded with powerful hardware and is running the Sailfish OS, well it is different but compatible with Android apps – you can run android apps on the Jolla phone.

Jolla smartphone weight is 141 grams with battery and is 9.9mm thick. It is powered by 1.4GHz qualcomm snapdragon dual core processor. The 4.5 inch 5 point multi touch screen comes with gorilla glass 2 protection and supports 960 x 540 pixels resolution.

There are a good number of sensors –Gyro, Magnetic, Light, Accelerometer and proximity. On the rear there is auto focus camera of 8MP resolution with LED flash and on the front there is a 2MP camera.

The handset comes with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage; there is micro SD card slot too. Key features are 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS, micro SIM slot, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. A 2100 mAh battery that the Jolla houses gives a talk time of up to 10 hours.

The handset will be available on Snapdeal from 23rd September would be interesting to see what the company will price it at, in India.
