The Jiayu G4 comes powered by MediaTek quad core Turbo processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It sails on the Android 4.2 OS with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The screen is 4.7 inches with HD resolution.

G4 box pack
The box pack contains the Jiayu G4 handset, battery of a good 3000 mAh capacity, charger and data cable. There is no earphone included.

Design and Display
The handset looks almost similar to the Apple iPhone 4. The handset weight is 145 grams with battery and thickness is 11.18 mm, breadth is 65.12 mm and length 132.63 mm. The build quality is awesome and it doesn’t looks like a cheap Chinese phone.

The Bezel is pretty slim. There are 3 touch button on the front bottom, these are non-backlit buttons. There is LED notification on the front top along with sensors and 3MP front camera. The power button is on the right, volume rockers on the left, 3.5mm audio jack on the top and micro USB port at the bottom side.

The 4.7 inch screen with IPS and OGS display is with 1280×720 pixels resolution (312.47 ppi). The screen is with gorilla glass 2 protection as mentioned on their website, however the same is not mentioned anywhere on the box. I tried scratching the screen with a pin and it was scratch resistant. Viewing angle is very good and touch is buttery smooth and responsive. The color reproduction is equally good. There are Accelerometer, Light, proximity, Gyro and Magnetic sensors.

OS, memory and storage
This handset runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. There is micro SD card slot that supports up to 64 GB however you cannot move or install apps on the external storage. But 32 GB internal storage is more than enough; internal storage space also helps improve performance.

Of the 2 GB RAM 1.6 GB is available and of 32 GB storage 1.48 GB is assigned for apps and 26.77 GB as phone storage.

Performance
Jiayu G4 is powered by cortex A7 MT6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. The performance is pretty impressive as seen in the Benchmark scores below.

This hardware can play full HD videos with ease. There is built in FM radio for on the move entertainment. Sound is loud and clear.

Gaming
I tried the Modern Combat 4 that got installed on the internal storage. The game play was smooth, you can check the review video that also includes the gaming part.

Others
I did not face any issues with 3G, in call sound quality, signal strengthen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. I got the first GPS lock within 2 minutes. The handset did get heated up (warm 41 degree) when playing the MC4 game for 30 minutes. OTG is supported, I could browse through the content of my pen drive using an OTG cable.

3000 mAh battery
Jiayu G4 is with massive battery of 3000 mAh that should last for an extra 12 hours more than as compared with other handsets with 2000 mAh battery. The handset did get heated up when playing the MC4 game. I played the game for 30 minutes, the battery temperature rose from 34 to 41 degree and the battery level dropped by 7%.

Verdict
The handset is powerful with excellent built quality and performance. It’s 4.7 inch screen comfortable to hold – with HD resolution. 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage is another feature that will impress many. This handset is available in thin battery edition (I guess 1800 mAh) and thick battery edition (3000 mAh). The thick edition Jiayu G4 is priced at Rs. 18,500.

The handset is sold by AndroidGuruz and their reputation is not that good in terms of delivery and after sales. They have yet to finalize a deal with Salora Support who will handle the after sales for AndroidGuruz, which I believe is in the final stages.
