The Apple iPhone 4S low battery performance that many users were complaining about could be because of a software glitch related to the time zone settings. In the systems services menu there is the Setting Time zone option which always seems to be in the ‘on’ state trying to access the phone’s location and in the process draining the battery power.
The time zone function is great tool that automatically sets the time zone when you travel so you don’t need to update it manually. This service keeps track of the phone’s location. However a software glitch failed to update the location and time zone while repeatedly trying to access the phone’s location, this it seems was draining much of the battery juice.
