Intex mobiles will soon launch an affordable quad core handset the Intex Aqua Wonder 2 for under Rs. 10,000. The wonder 2 will hit the stores by April 15th and will run on the Jelly bean OS.
Rs. 10,000 for a quad core handset is just too tempting. Well it also depends on what is being offered, for example the Karbonn S1 Titanium is priced at Rs. 10,290 but it’s with qualcomm processor with Adreno 203 GPU that isn’t that powerful.
Fortunately the Intex Aqua Wonder 2 is powered by MT6589 quad core chipset the same that powered the Xolo Q800, Wammy Titan 2, Zopo 910, some more handsets and the Micromax A116. Everything looks good except the RAM. The Wonder 2 comes with 512MB RAM, wonder why?
The Aqua Wonder 2 sports a 4.5 inch IPS touchscreen with 960×540 pixels resolution. There are dual cameras, a front 1.3MP and a rear 8MP auto focus with LED flash. The internal storage is 2GB – not sure if it is free or total storage and the battery is of 1800 mAh capacity. Other features included are dual SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.
The company is also planning to launch some more quad core powered handset with price between Rs 10,000 to Rs. 15,000. The Intex Aqua Wonder is almost similar with dual core processor. The only difference in Wonder 2 is the quad core chipset. Incidentally the dual core price is 9,990. The price of dual core will definitely fall with the launch of the quad core in April.
