Intex mobiles has launched two new low cost dual SIM handsets the Intex Aqua Star and the Intex Aqua SX for a price of Rs. 3,990 and Rs. 4,490. These handsets are powered by single core processor and runs on outdated Android Gingerbread OS.
With the launch of Quad core handsets the dual core prices have not yet been affected, however the single core handsets are now selling for under Rs. 5,000. The Aqua star and the SX are the latest additions.
Intex Aqua SX
This dual SIM handset is powered by 1GHz single core processor with 256MB RAM running on Android 2.3.6 OS. The TFT screen is 3.5 inches with resolution of 480×320 pixels (262K colours). The internal storage is around 128MB with external micro SD support.
For a price of under Rs. 4,500 this handset comes with 5MP rear camera along with a front 0.3MP camera. The rear and the front cameras are fixed focus. There is no flash support. This is a low cost handset and 3G / GPS are missing. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, 2G (Edge / GPRS), Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.
The battery is of 1450 mAh capacity with up to 5 hours talktime and 360 hours standby time. Price Rs. 4,490.
Intex Aqua Star
The specifications are not yet mentioned on the Intex mobile website. What we know is that the dual SIM handset is with single core processor probably with 1GHz CPU, a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen with the same resolution as on the Aqua SX. There is Wi-Fi, 2G, Bluetooth, a 3MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera.
This handset runs on Android 2.3 and look wise is much better than the Aqua SX. The Intex Aqua star is priced at Rs. 3,990.
