Infocus has launched a new handset the Vision 3 and it might give some competition to Redmi smartphones, will it? read this review to know more. What makes the Infocus Vision 3 special is the Full View 18:9 display, 4000 mAh battery and the price of Rs. 6,999.

The Infocus Vision 3 is the cheapest handset to come with a 5.7 inch HD+ (18:9) aspect screen. Performance is good, not really for gaming users, well that is the case with almost all quad core powered handset. Full view display experience is really good.

There are dual cameras on the back, though the camera quality is average the dual cameras really do not work the way it should. Check the camera section for more details. Battery life is very good, thanks to 4000 mAh battery.

Infocus Vision 3 Gaming Review

I played Asphalt 8 in high quality mode, game clearly lagged. Then in medium visual quality mode the game play was better, smooth but I did feel it lagging, though game was playable. For best results play in low visual quality mode.

This MediaTek quad core, in fact any quad core device is good for normal usage not for gaming users.

Infocus Vision 3 dual cameras on the back

Infocus Vision 3 Camera  Review

Rear Camera : 13MP + 5MP (dual cameras), Wide angle, auto focus, LED flash
Front Camera : 8MP, Portrait mode
Video Recording : FHD resolution

There are dual cameras on the rear a 13MP + 5MP one is a wide angle camera. In camera app you get a portrait mode and a wide angle mode. The dual cameras does not work like a dual camera should, you do not get the kind of bokeh that one would expect from dual cameras.

In fact I shot using normal mode and then with portrait mode and the results were the same, no difference. You need to be very close to subject to get the bokeh plus very important thing for portrait mode to work it needs a face without the face it does not work. Anyway the quality was not that great.

Infocus Vision 3 dual cameras on the back

Front camera is 8MP and it shoots average selfies. Handset can shoot FHD videos and the video quality is pretty good, however focusing is slow.  Camera quality is average. There are two modes PIP and Multi, PIP makes use of front and rear camera and Multi gives you 4 option to shoot and then combines the 4 images into one – check sample below.

Other features

Sound is loud and clear, no issues with networks. The Wi-Fi I feel is a bit weak works well when you are close to the router. Finger print sensor is decently fast and accurate. This handset is running Smile UX UI and there are some pretty good themes you can download and install.

Verdict

So does this handset compete with Redmi smartphones, well to some extent, however there are certain things that is not that great like just 3 sensors, Mediatek processor and average camera considering it comes with dual camera setup.

You can buy this handset if your main criteria is 18:9 screen, better battery life and normal usage. Camera is average, good for sharing online.
