Infocus Bingo 50 review – running Marshmallow with 3GB RAM

The Infocus Bingo 50 is the first smartphone launched in the Indian markets that is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with 3GB RAM for a price tag of ₹7,499. This is a dual SIM handset with 4G LTE support.

Bingo 50 Unboxing

The box pack is pretty compact and inside you will find the handset, data cable, travel charger 5V/1A, user guide, warranty card and standard quality earphone. SAR Value : 0.653W/Kg head and 0.961W/Kg body.

Design

The Bingo 50 is upgraded version of Infocus M350. Design is exactly the same, good build quality and finishing, plastic body with curvy body that gets extremely slimmer towards the edges. Even the handset width is less and that helps get a much better and comfortable grip. Handset comes with Sandstone Gray and Leather Black panel options.

Weight with built in battery of 2500 mAh capacity is 150 grams and dimensions are 76.03 x 149.97 x 8.49 (mm). Power button is on the right, volume rocker on the left, audio jack on the top and micro USB port at the bottom. There are dual mics for noise cancellation.

This is a dual SIM handset – there are 2x micro SIM slots both support 4G and enhanced 4G LTE mode. There is a separate micro SD card slot that can house external card of up to 64GB.

There is LED notifications and following sensors – accelerometer, light and proximity.

Display

Bingo 50 sports a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. There are no dedicated buttons and hence some area will be used by the onscreen buttons. Colour reproduction, viewing angles and touch responses are very good.

Memory, Storage and OS

This handset is packed with 3GB RAM you will get around 1.6GB free on first boot and average 1.2GB with normal usage. Of the 16GB internal storage space you will get around 10GB free space. OTG is supported. Apps are getting installed on internal storage.

Infocus Bingo 50 is running InLife UI over Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Performance

It is powered by MediaTek MT6735 64 bit quad core processor @ 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Performance was smooth and lag free. Battery temp was well under control. Max temperature I encountered was 41 degrees when playing games.

Bingo 50 Benchmark

  • Quadrant – 9744.
  • Antutu (64 bit) – 1st time 30978, 2nd time 32157.
  • Nenamark 2 – 60.5fps
  • Internal storage Speed – Read (70MB/s), Write (41MB/s)
  • Multi Touch – 5 Point.

Gaming
I tried Asphalt 8 in high visual quality mode. The game got installed on internal storage and very much playable in high quality mode. But I found the car control better in medium quality mode.

The gaming sound, not sure why, was quite low.

Camera

There is a 8MP AF camera on the back with LED flash support and an 8MP camera (auto focus) on the front too without flash. Camera quality is above average. Rear camera can shoot FHD videos. I did find some issues with orientation, when using handset / camera app in landscape mode the buttons / icons were still in portrait mode. Probably some software glitch. Also when recording FHD videos only one mic was functional even though there are 2 mics.

Others

Sound was loud and clear. I did not find any issues with in-call sound / network quality. No issues with 4G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Battery

There is a non-removable battery of 2500 mAh capacity; you will get around 4 to 6 hours of battery backup with continuous moderate to heavy usage.

Battery Performance

  • Running Benchmark app – 19 minutes / battery % dropped by 5 / battery temp = 37 degrees.
  • Played Asphalt 8 – for 22 minutes / battery dropped by 8% / battery temp = 41 degrees.
  • FHD video playback with full brightness (WiFi /4G on) – for 39 minutes / battery dropped by 12% / battery temp was 38 degrees.
  • Handset charging (wall charge) – 1 hour 11 minutes from 54% to 100% – estimated 2 hours 30 minutes for 0% to 100% charging.

Verdict

Bingo 50 looks like the Infocus M350 and is loaded with some really cool features like 3GB RAM and more importantly the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. For the price of ₹7,499 it is a good buy but would have been better if fingerprint sensor were included as that has become the latest trend.

Infocus Bingo 50 is priced at ₹7,499.
