After being awarded the STQC (Standardization Testing and Quality Certification) from Government of India, InFocus has confirmed that they will soon launch a Aadhaar based smartphone in India with a price tag of around Rs. 12,000.
The US based mobile manufacturer will launch the Iris smartphone in 2017. For using Aadhaar based authentication a STQC is required. InFocus new yet to be launched smartphone will make use of Iris biometric authentication. As per the company the reliability and accuracy of the upcoming biometric device is pretty impressive.
The smartphone can capture Iris image in different lighting conditions with ease, it takes less than 2 seconds to capture. The data collected gets UIDAI Encryption at chipset level and only Aadhaar servers will be able to decrypt the data.
InFocus Aadhaar enabled Smartphone will make use of Iris scanner, it will be powered by a quad core processor with 4G VoLTE support. As mentioned InFocus will launch the handset in early 2017, price will be around Rs. 12,000.
This Aadhaar Enabled InFocus Smartphone may not be that useful for general public but definitely useful for companies, banks, security agencies, recruiters etc.
