Idea Cellular has launched the Idea Whiz smartphone that comes powered by a dual core processor running on the ICS OS with 5MP auto focus camera for a price of Rs. 7,850. The handset does support the 3G network.

We have seen many handset launched recently with the same specifications i.e dual core with 5MP camera like the Celkon A101 and the Celkon A62. Fortunately the Idea Whiz does support 3G. The Whiz handset comes with a 4 inch TFT capacitive screen with 800×480 pixels resolution.

This handset runs on android 4.0 over 512MB RAM and with 4GB internal storage. There is a primary 5MP camera and a front VGA camera. Other features supported are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm jack. There is no mention of GPS on the Idea cellular specs page but given the price I think GPS will be included.

A battery of 1500 mAh gives a talktime of up 8 hours on 3G and over 10 hours on the 2G networks. The handset is priced at Rs. 7,850 and will also come with Idea offers for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers.
