Idea the telecom operator has rolled out the Idea Ultra quad core smartphone for Rs. 10,500. This handset with a 5 inch screen is powered by 1.2GHz quad core and comes with 8MP camera.
The Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) handset sports a 5 inch screen with 854×480 pixels resolution with 16M colors. There is 8MP camera with flash and a VGA camera on the front. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean runs on 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. Of the 4GB storage 1.9GB is allocated as phone storage. Users can also use external SD card slot to add up to 32GB storage.
Other common features are 3G (21Mbps), 2G (class 12), Bluetooth 2, GPS, Wi-Fi and FM radio. Battery is of 2000 mAh capacity with up to 5 hours talk time on 2G networks. The specifications on the Idea website does not specifically mentions the quad core chipset and the camera video recording capabilities i.e. can it record in 720p or 1080p.
The Idea Ultra phone is priced at Rs. 10,500 and comes with some offers for pre-paid and post-paid customers – 3GB free 3G data and free 3 months Idea TV subscription.
