Idea Cellular has now launched an 800 MHz dual SIM Android smartphone called Idea Aurus for Rs. 7,200.  The Aurus 3G smartphone comes with free benefits of worth Rs. 2340.

The Idea Aurus handset does come with good features like MTK processor clocked at 800 MHz, 5MP camera and dual SIM support. The display resolution is 800×480  320×480 pixels similar to what the Micromax Ninja 4 houses, but over an 3.5 inch screen.

The handset can be bought online from ncarry. The internal app storage is 150 MB free for users and there seem to be some discrepancy regarding the RAM / ROM. Almost all handsets come with 512MB ROM but on the Ncarry site it is listed as 256 MB ROM and 512MB RAM. I think it should be vice versa i.e. 512MB ROM and 256 MB RAM.

Other features included are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro SD slot, built in FM RADIO, GPS and 3.5 mm Jack. A 1300 mAh battery powers the handset with 3.5 hours of talktime and over a week of standby time.

A  lower RAM (RAM not confirmed) could lead to laggy performance. Though the price does seem on the higher side if you subscribe to the Idea services you could get 3G benefits of up to Rs. 2340. For more details visit the Ncarry / Nimbuzz site.
