There are very few brands providing the Jelly Bean upgrade and now iBall and Xolo have joined the JB update bandwagon and have announced the update for some of their handsets. Lava had recently announced the Jelly Bean upgrade for the Iris 501.
iBall will provide the Jelly Bean upgrade for the Andi 4.5h model for free. Users will need to visit their service center to get the upgrade done. Even for Lava Iris 501 users had only one option – to visit the service centre.
Xolo has gone a step further; they have announced the Jelly Bean upgrade for the Xolo X1000 and the Xolo A1000 model. The good part is that users can get the upgrade done over the air (OTA support).
All they need to do is have a working network connection either via 3G or Wi-Fi and then they can download the update available on their handsets. Xolo is a brand of Lava. Interestingly being the same company, they gave the OTA option only for the XOLO brand and not for the Lava brand. Anyway it’s good news of the respective handset owners as they can jazz up their phone with the new OS. Probably we might hear about some more manufacturers coming up with the JB update.
