Huawei recently talk about the Huawei Ascent Mate a 6.1 inch smartphone running on android OS with quad core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This handset will be unveiled at CES and could probably be priced under $500.

The 6.1 inch Huawei Ascent Mate will support 1080p (Full HD) resolution with 361 ppi and will be powered by K3V3 quad core chipset. This handset will be using a new type of display technology called LTPS i.e. Low Temperature Polysilicon.

The LTPS allows very high resolution displays in smaller format. The LTPS technology is being used by Toshiba and Sony. A 4000 mAh battery will power this handset.

The 5 inch smartphones are big, and there are very few users who would want to go in for a 6 inch smartphone, because of the size. As for now the Karbonn A30 a 5.9 inch android smartphone is available in India.

This is all the details we have for now with reference to the Ascent Mate. The pricing and the release dates are unknown.  The handset will be showcased at CES (technology related trade show) so stay tuned for more info.
