Another Android smartphone from HTC that is creating a buzz on the internet is the HTC Runnymede powered by a powerful super fast 1.5 GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor from Qualcomm with a 4.7 inch super LCD screen and more, all these packed within the sleek 9.9mm aluminium uni body design. It is the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS that HTC Runnymede will run on along with HTC sense 3.5 UI.

HTC Runnymede features

This futuristic handset will sport a bigger 4.7 inch WVGA LCD screen (800 x 400 pixel resolution) with capacitive touch functionality. HTC Runnymede will come with 768MB of RAM and in two versions 16GB and 32GB internal storage. Watching movies or listing to MP3 will be a mind blowing experience thanks to the SRS surround sound that is further fine-tuned by Beats.

The Runnymede android smartphone will be of dimension 130.6 x 70.63 x 9.9mm. This phone will support 3G phone with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps.

The main focus point however is the primary 8 megapixel camera with 2x led flash and auto focus function. The secondary camera is of 1.3 megapixel resolution. The HTC Runnymede camera can record HC videos in 720p resolution with slow motion playback and surround sound. This handset will feature a F2.2 lens that will give great output even in low light conditions and for wide angle shots.

The Runnymede will house a 1600 mAh battery. Other features that will be available on the HTC Runnymede are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS with AGPS support, G Sensor, Compass, Gyroscope, built in FM Radio, Dual microphone, 3.5mm jack, Audio DSP with SRS surround sound, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.

The 16GB Runnymede version is expected to be priced at £499 (USD 792) and £530 (USD 841) for the 32GB version. I will keep you informed when the HTC Runnymede will be available in India.
