The HTC Desire Eye with a 13MP front camera + flash specially made for selfies was announced in India in October 2014. It is now already available in some local stores in India for Rs. 35,990. The Desire Eye, I believe will also go on sale online on Amazon.in pretty soon.
The Desire Eye is 8.5mm thick, weighs about 154 grams and is powered by 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core processor. Handset supports 4G LTE – there is a single nano SIM slot. It is running Android KitKat out of the box with HTC Sense. The touch screen is 5.2 inches supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.
There is accelerometer, light, proximity and gyro sensors. On board RAM is 2GB with 16GB internal storage. There is micro SD support of up to 128 GB. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, GPS with GLONASS, HTC Boom sound, dual speakers on front with amplifiers, 3 microphones, dedicated camera button, NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
There are dual cameras. A 13MP on the rear with dual LED flash and 1080p recording capabilities and another camera of 13MP on the front with dual LED flash and it can also record 1080p resolution videos.
The HTC Desire Eye houses a 2400 mAh battery that gives talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G networks. It is available for Rs. 35,990 (Mahesh Telecom).
