If rumors are to be believed HTC may soon announce their new handset the HTC Desire 616 in Q2 2014 and could release the same in Q3 2014. The Desire 616 will be powered by 1.7GHz MediaTek octa core processor and probably be priced under $250.
HTC Mobiles have already started using the MediaTek chipset that has helped them reduce the cost. The rumored HTC desire 616 will be 9.1mm thick and weight will be around 150 grams. The touch screen is 5 inches with 1280 x 720p resolution. Handset will run on the Android 4.2 with HTC Sense user interface over 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.
There is a Micro SD card slot that supports 64GB cards. This handset will also come with an 8 megapixel rear auto focus camera with LED and a front camera. Inside the hood it will be using the MediaTek MT6592 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with Mali 450 GPU.
Additional features are 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. The battery mAh capacity is not yet known. The HTC Desire 616 is still a rumor, let’s wait for the official confirmation. HTC may also launch the Mini version of M8, the HTC One M8 Mini.
