HTC will soon roll out a mid range quad core smartphone called the HTC Desire 310. This dual SIM handset will come powered by MediaTek MT6582M quad core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400 GPU.
The handset actually showed up on the European website but was later taken down. HTC Desire 310 will sport a 4.5 inch screen supporting resolution of 854×480 pixels. Incidentally the 310 will become the first MediaTek powered handset launched by HTC.
This dual SIM handset will sail on Android 4.2 with 512MB RAM and 4Gigs of internal storage. Desire 310 will be 11.2mm thick and will come with a VGA camera on the front and rear camera of 5MP without LED flash support.
Other common features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. A 2000 mAh battery should easily last for a day with moderate usage. There are already many handsets available in the Indian markets using the MT6582 quad core chipset, there is the Micromax Canvas A114, Gionee Pionee P3, Intex Aqua i6, etc.. Lenovo had also launched few handsets with MT6582 processor.
Most of the MT6582 powered handsets are priced well under Rs. 13,000. Let’s see if HTC can come up with a competitive price tag.
