HP now joins the Tablet bandwagon by launching their first tablet called the HP Slate 7. It’s an android based tab with a 7 inch screen with audio enhancements for a price of $169 (around Rs. 10K). The price in India however will be slightly more than this.

No word as to when the Slate 7 will be available in the Indian market but for the price and the features this does look like a good buy. The tablet weighs around 370 grams and sails on the Jelly Bean OS.

The screen is 7 inches with 1024×600 pixels resolution. This tab is powered by a dual core cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. There are dual cameras a front VGA and a rear 3MP camera with video recording. Since this is an HP product, HP features such as beats audio, ePrint etc are also inherited.

Not only will you enjoy excellent audio but you will also be able to print any documents via Wi-Fi on supported HP printer. Features included are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB. There is no built in SIM slot or GPS. If the tab is priced at under Rs. 11,000 it could give some competition to low cost tablets. This tablet was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress.
