HCL has launched ME Champ tablet for kids at an attractive price of Rs. 7,999. This tab is targeted at little champs loaded with interactive books, educational apps, TV, music and games. And of course it does come with parental control.
Inside the hood there is a 1GHz single core processor (cortex A9) + Mali 400 GPU with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The tab runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and supports full HD (1080p) video playback.
The HCL ME Champ tab sports a 7 inch screen with WVGA resolution (800×480 pixels). It houses dual cameras 2MP rear / VGA front. There is no flash support. Other features are Wi-Fi (b/g/n), HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack and Micro USB port. There is no built in SIM slot; however external dongles with 3G are supported (WCDMA/EVDO). As for the battery its 3100 mAh capacity.
The specifications are pretty outdated and tab looks quite simple. This tab will compete with Swipe Junior tab, Binatone tab and Samsung tab 3 for kids. The ME champ comes with several pre-loaded apps specially made for kids. HCL Champ ME for kids will hit the stores soon.
