Google Handwrite now enabled on Android and iOS devices

Google Handwrite is a new way of writing, err searching for info on the web. Android and iOS devices are now ‘Handwrite’ enabled.

Load the Google search in the stock browser and you will see the Handwrite option. You can also find the Handwrite icon on the bottom right corner with the ‘g’ symbol. This new feature adds handwriting recognition functionality for the Google search.

All you need to do is activate the writing mode by pressing the icon and simply start writing on the screen. The characters will then be recognized and will be inserted in the search bar. This works great on any touchscreen mobile phone and tablets.

Some phones come with a stylus which will be more comfortable; however you can still use your fingers. Once you start scribbling it does take some time for the content to show up. So if you want to search for games, just write games on the screen in your natural writing style and then the search bar will show the games keyword – then tab the search icon.

Most of you might still want to go back to the traditional onscreen keyboard, as they will find it much faster. But the handwrite feature comes really handy when you are travelling or searching stuff on the move.
