Google launched the awaited low cost Android One devices in India. They have partnered with Micromax, Spice and Karbonn who will make the budget friendly smartphone available simultaneously at 3:30PM today on 3 different e-commerce portals.
Interestingly Spice had already listed their Android one model on Flipkart and was available for Rs. 6,999. The link was later removed and anyone who ordered the handset got a refund. Micromax will be launching it on Amazon, Spice on Flipkart and Karbonn on Snapdeal.
Waiting for official announcement from Google though we already know the specs. Most likely Google will be using the MediaTek chipset that we already know and there are many handsets using it. The best part would be the software updates that I guess Google would be providing.
Karbonn Android one is called the Sparkle V. It sports 4.5 inch screen with FWVGA resolution. There is 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, running Android 4.4. Dual cameras – 5MP rear , 2MP front. Battery is 1700 mAh. Specs and the design looks similar to as see on the Spice Android One handset. Karbonn Sparkle V is priced at Rs. 6,399.
All of the 3 handsets have got the design with minor changes.
So it is Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO and the Karbonn Sparkle V. All of these handsets are loaded with same specifications. They are powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, Android 4.4, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. Other common features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. Battery is 1700 mAh.
Micromax Canvas A1 Price Rs. 6,399
Karbonn Sparkle V Price Rs. 6,399
Spice Dream UNO price Rs. 6,399
So go for the brand / best looking though the design is the same there are minor changes. These smartphones will go on sale from 3:30PM onwards today.
