Gionee has launched another low budget handset the P2S that houses the 1.3GHz processor – note it is a dual core processor. This dual SIM handset runs on Android 4.2 over a 4 inch screen, the price is Rs. 6,499.

The Gionee P2S specifications are different as compared to the Gionee P2 handset, the processor is the same and minor changes in terms of battery and thickness. As mentioned P2S is using the MediaTek dual core chipset – 1.3GHz cortex A7 with Mali 400 GPU. There are dual SIM slots (GSM(3G) + GSM(2G)) with dual standby mode.

P2S weight with battery is 124 grams and it is 9.3mm thick. It is a comparatively smaller phone with a 4 inch screen supporting resolution of 800 x 480 pixels with 15M colors. Android 4.2 is the OS used that runs on 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. The micro SD card slot can add additional spaced of up to 32GB.

Also included is front VGA camera and a rear 5MP camera with LED flash and HD video recording capabilities. There are accelerometer, magnetic and proximity sensors. Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, DTS 3D surround sound, FM radio, GPS and Bluetooth.

The 1600 mAh battery as per the company will give a talk time of up to 12 hours on 2G and up to 9 hours on 3G networks. Gionee P2S is available in Black, White, Pink and Blue color options for a price tag of Rs. 6,499.

Gionee P2 comes with 1.3GHz dual core  processor, 1700 mAh battery and is 11.15mm thick, the P2S on the other hand is also 1.3GHz dual core, comes with 1600 mAh battery and is 9.3mm thick. Incidentally the P2 is also available for around the same price.
