Gionee today at an event in China launched the Gionee Marathon M6 and the Gionee Marathon M6 Plus smartphones in the Marathon M series. Marathon M6 with 64GB ROM is priced at RMB 2699 (Rs. 27K) and 128GB at RMB 2899 (Rs. 28K); Marathon M6 Plus with 64GB ROM is priced at RMB 2999 (Rs. 30K) and 128GB at RMB. 3199 (Rs. 32K).
Gionee M6 is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa core processor with Mali T860 GPU. It sports a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen with 2.5D curved glass and supporting 1080p resolution. Amigo 3.2 over Android 6.0 runs the show with 4GB RAM and optional 64GB / 128GB storage plus micro SD support of up to 128GB.
Primary camera is 13MP using SONY IMX258 sensor with flash and secondary camera is 8MP shooter. Other features are dual SIM, 4G LTE, VoLTE, BT 4.1, GPS, Finger print sensor and WiFi. A 5000 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities powers up this handset.
Gionee Marathon M6 Plus is also using same hardware but this handset comes with 6 inch AMOLED screen with 2.5D curved glass and 1080p resolution. Rear camera is 16MP and front camera is 8MP. The M6 Plus houses a 6020mAh battery.
M6 / M6 Plus are the first handset made by Gionee that comes with integrated encrypted chip that will secure user data, now this technology is only available on Chinese version. The international version however will come with finger print sensor for security without the encrypted chip.
