Gionee may soon launch the Gionee M2 handset that will come powered by 1.3GHz cortex A7 quad core processor (MediaTek) running Android 4.2 with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The price tag is not yet known but another interesting feature is the battery of 4200 mAh capacity.
The Gionee M2 is 10.5mm thick and sports a 5 inch screen with 854×480 pixels resolution with 16M colors. This handset sails on android 4.2 with 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and 32GB micro SD card support. It is powered by 1.3GHz MT6582 quad core processor with Mali 400 GPU. The same hardware powers the Micromax Canvas A114.
Also included is an 8MP rear AF camera with LED flash that comes loaded with many features like face beauty, eraser, gesture shot and more. There is a front camera of 2MP resolution. The rear camera can shoot videos in 720p resolution.
The Gionee M2 will support 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. I am sure the GPS lock will be amazingly fast (check the Micromax A114 review). M2 is a dual SIM handset with dual standby mode. Sensors – Light, magnetic, proximity and accelerometer.
The battery is of a good 4200 mAh capacity with up to 24 hours of talk-time on 3G networks. The specifications on the official Gionee website states that OTG is supported only to be used as a power bank – so the handset could power / charge other devices.
It would be interesting to know the price tag, stay tuned for more.
