Gionee Elife S5.5 that claims to be the slimmest Android smartphone in the world will now get an hardware update, the new version will be called the Gionee Elife S5.5L. The company will replace the 1.7GHz MediaTek octa core with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core chipset with 4G LTE enabled.

Well with the upgrade the Elife S5.5L can also claim to be the slimmest 4G smartphone in the World with a 5.7mm thickness. As per the report by Gizchina the S5.5L 4G LTE version will also come with a slightly bigger battery of 2450 mAh capacity. Rest of the features will be the same. The screen on both the MediaTek Octa core version and the Snapdragon 400 quad core version will be 5 inches AMOLED with 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) resolution.

You can check the review of Gionee Elife S5.5. The 4G LTE version will put on some weight cause of the hardware changes and the battery capacity. Moreover the S5.5L 4G will also cost a little more. For now the Octa core version is available of approx Rs. 21,000.
