The Gionee A1 Plus is a new addition to the A1 Gionee family. Here is the Gionee A1 Plus review, this handset comes with a big screen of 6 inches and powered by MediaTek octa core processor and there are dual cameras on the back that can shoot with bokeh effects.

This handset is big cause it comes with a 6 inch screen. A1 Plus is using a metal body with very good build and finishing, the handset is big, it’s heavy – weight is 226 grams but decently slim with a 9.1mm thickness. It is comfortable to hold but I guess not for long.

There is a huge difference between giving an opinion and actually experiencing it. This MediaTek Helio P25 chipset actually performs decently well and can play high end games, and heat up is under control. For those who think this is a mediocre chipset, it can do what other well known chipset can.

Gionee A1 Plus review

Dual camera is an advantage and portrait mode does shoot really well. The 4550 mAh battery also does a very good job. This handset supports 4G with VoLTE and comes with finger print sensor. Everything worked well, the only issue is the price that I feel is on a higher side considering the options that are available in the market.

Gionee A1 Plus Gaming Review

I played MC5 and Asphalt 8. The Modern Combat 5 game played well no issues and even the Asphalt 8 was playable in high quality mode, it was smooth and lag free. Now some say the game lags, I would suggest check my other review videos where I played the same game, the Asphalt 8 game is not lagging on Gionee A1 Plus, if you still not sure check benchmark.

If you follow / believe people who are giving out verdict based on opinions then it get hard to digest the truth based on facts.

Gionee A1 Plus Camera  Review

Rear Camera : 13MP (f/2.0)+ 5MP (f/2.2) dual cameras, Auto Focus, flash
Front Camera : 20MP, fixed focus, f/2.0
Video Recording : 1080p (FHD) resolution

The camera is really good on the Gionee A1 Plus. Daylight shots were very good and for night shots / low light shots if you go manual you will really get some great results. This handset can shoot Full HD videos – the quality is very good. Camera quality is excellent.

To use the dual cameras you need to switch to portrait mode. Using this mode you will be able to get bokeh style effects where the subject is more in focus and the background more blurred. The dual camera setup does good but not as good as what Honor 8 Pro and the OnePlus 5 does.

Camera Rating : 4.3 out of 5

Verdict

The Gionee A1 Plus is big, comes with 6 inch screen and is quite heavy. The overall performance is good, UI is a little different and users might need some time getting used to it (in case if it new for them).

Battery life, performance is very good, camera is excellent.  The price of Rs. 26,999 is way too much, and on the higher side. It may sell in offline markets but really doubt about its sale online.

Rating : 4 out of 5
