Dell Venue 7 and Dell Venue 8 are two new tablets launched in India. These tabs come powered by Intel ATOM processor and runs on the Android Jelly Bean OS. The Dell Venue 7 comes at an attractive price tag of Rs. 10,999 whereas the Venue 8 is priced at Rs. 17,499.
The Dell Venue 7 is with a 7 inch capacitive touch screen supporting 1200×800 pixels resolution. As mentioned it houses the Intel ATOM chipset Z2760 (Clover Trail) it’s a dual core @ 1.6GHz. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is the OS used that works smoothly with 16GB storage and 2GB RAM.
Also included is a VGA front camera and 3MP camera on the rear. Micro SD card of up to 32GB is supported. Other features are Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. A 4100 mAh battery gives a decent video playback time of up to 10 hours.
Dell Venue 7 is priced at Rs. 10,999 – not bad for the features and considering the brand value.
The Dell Venue 8 on the other hand also comes with the same processor that powers the Venue 7, i.e. 1.6GHz dual core Intel ATOM Z2760. This tablet runs on Android 4.2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage plus 32GB external micro SD card support. Battery is the same 4100 mAh.
The Venue 8 however comes with a bigger screen of 8 inches with 1280×800 pixels resolution. It includes a 5 megapixel camera on the rear with full HD video recording and a 2MP camera on the front. Other features are Wi-Fi, optional 3G (not sure yet), GPS and Bluetooth.
The Dell Venue 8 is priced at Rs. 17,499.
